World Teacher's Day! Meet Synopsis Portuguese Language Teacher

World Teachers Day is an annual celebration on the 5th of October to recognise and appreciate the responsibilities of their hard work.

This year World Teachers Day has a theme focused on ‘Teachers at the Heart of Education Recovery’. This theme acknowledges teachers for their tireless efforts especially over the past couple of years regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdowns.

Although the day is about celebrating and appreciating our Teachers, the day is also important for pointing out key issues within the education system to push towards finding a solution for overcoming such difficulties.

Portuguese lessons are a free compulsory part included within the Erasmus Plus programme which are to be attended once a week for one hour and half. Therefore, whilst gaining work experience this also provides our students with more value having the chance to develop a better contrast of the culture through the learning of the Portuguese language to help with communication and experiences.

Ines believes that teaching is important since it is a way of teaching knowledge and when you're teaching a language you're teaching a tool for communication, which is vital for everyday life!

A special thanks and appreciation to Ines, our language teacher in Lisbon for all her hard work and making sure our students do not forget their please and thank you’s whilst exploring the city...Obrigado!
